Following previous statements from the WIPCE Australia Organising Committee, the World Indigenous Peoples’ Conference will be rescheduled for the second time to 26-30 September 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on global health, safety and international travel.
We would like to reassure delegates and presenters that the convenors are committed to safely hosting the next WIPCE conference in Adelaide, South Australia.
The 2022 WIPCE conference will feature an exciting Indigenous education program of keynote presentations, networking, interactive workshops and discussion forums with an associated rich and diverse cultural program.
WIPCE convenors will monitor the trajectory of the pandemic and make any adjustments necessary to ensure the safety of conference delegates. Australia has one of the lowest cases and COVID transmission rates in the world.
Current registrations will remain valid for the next WIPCE event and the Adelaide Convention Centre will continue to be the conference venue.
The WIPCE Academic Committee has considered previously submitted abstracts and will shortly advise the process for accepting abstracts in conjunction with a second call for presentations later in 2021.
Please direct any specific enquiries to the conference organising team at All Occasions Group at email@example.com.
Further conference updates will be posted to www.wipce2022.net and other communication channels with our communities.
Thank you for your understanding and support to ensure WIPCE continues as the largest and most diverse Indigenous education forum on earth.
The health and well-being of our communities, particularly our Elders is of paramount importance to us and our future generations. I urge you to stay safe and take care of yourselves and your communities.
On behalf of the WIPCE Australia Organising Committee, I invite you to join us in Adelaide in 2022 as we share our cultures, knowledges and lived experiences. We will celebrate our cultural resilience and connectedness as global Indigenous citizens of humanity.
I would like to thank our committees, communities, sponsors, Elders, volunteers, delegates and presenters for walking this journey with us and we look forward to seeing you at WIPCE 2022 at Tarndanya (Adelaide) on the lands of the Kaurna Nation
Yours in unity
